An update on our goats
On your travels you may well come across the two newest members of the FoBB team. On loan from the excellent Street Goat, Doe and Buck (other names are available) are already on to their second bramble enclosure in St Anne’s Wood, managing the space for better access for people and preparing the ground for the autumn’s tree planting.

With huge thanks to the Duke of Edinburgh team and the dad crew who have been instrumental in moving the two fences to allow rotation across the woods.

Already a successful venture – the first enclosure they cleared is allowing light to reach plants previously covered by the bramble, and flowers like the Cuckoo Flower/Lady’s Smock have been revealed. Pretty and useful they’re an important foodplant for the butterfly population – also now appearing in the spring sunshine.
